Beer and Spirit Festivals have become a necessary summer outing and Wine and Spirit Fest should be a staple for your summer festival hit list. They have separated themselves from the competition by providing a unique experience taking you away from the hustle of downtown and transporting you to a picturesque lake setting.
All the top dogs in regards to distilleries were in attendance including Forty Creek, Absolut, Havana Club and Southern Comfort. Among my favourite tastings were a mixed drink from Flor de Cana and Taste of Tequila from Altos Tequila.
The vibe within Wine and Spirt Fest was super laid back and you could tell those of us in attendance were there to relax and unwind after a long work week. If I had not sat in the traffic on Lakeshore and made the commute to this festival myself I would not have believed I was just minutes from the downtown core. The setting felt like something you would experience in Northern Ontario, such one experiences in a town like Huntsville or Rosseau.
I highly recommend this event and suggest you check out Wine and Spirt Fest 2019 as I too will take the opportunity to once again escape the city for a night.
