CSRA Snowcross: High Flying Action
On February 18-19 the 9th annual ‘Royal Distributing Cup’ was hosted by the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA) & St-Onge Recreation. The races were held in Innisfil at Georgian Downs Racetrack.
Georgian Downs was the perfect venue providing multiple seating options and entertainment for all ages. Georgian downs had indoor heated grandstands, outdoor VIP ‘Pit Pass’ stands and track level standing area. Along with racing, there was a ‘Learn & Ride’ program for kids 6-12 to get the thrill of driving snowmobiles.
The racers came from far and wide to compete this weekend – Canada, USA and Europe – to race snowmobiles and snowbikes. The events featured first time rookies to professionals who competed in categories based on age, experience and racing specifications.
The most exciting races were in the Pro-Open category. These snowmobiles had the most powerful engines on the circuit providing high flying action and extreme crashes. For both heats and the final, fans were rushing from the heated indoors to the outdoor stands/standing areas to get as close to the action as possible.
This was a great way to spend time with family, friends and meet people in your local community. For anyone who hasn’t been to a CSRA event before, you should take the opportunity to experience something new and enjoy an afternoon outdoors with family and friends.
