The Toronto Football Club (Toronto FC), also known as The Reds, is Toronto’s premier Major League Soccer team. I was fortunate enough to experience one of their games first hand. On April 28th, the Toronto FC Defeated the Houston Dynamo 2-0.
Upon arrival at BMO Field I made my way to the press box where I was made very comfortable. There were reclining chairs, laptop stations, flat screen televisions and an amazing spread of food. The press box also provided the best views in the entire stadium.
Afterwards I observed the game from field level where I watched the first half in a leather stadium chair from behind Houston’s goal. This is where I witnessed both games goals and felt the entire stadium erupt. My first half seating was opposite to the Inebriatti in Section 114. The Inebriatti is a group of fans that united in 2013 with the sole purpose of energizing the atmosphere for The Reds. I must say that the Inebriatti are the most intense fans I have ever seen in person. Throughout the entire 90-minute duration of the match this group of fans were on their feet, waving flags and cheering. I am sure they played a part in Toronto’s win over Houston that evening.
I spent half-time in the BMO Club where I was treated to prime rib sandwiches, a variety of Mexican food and chocolate covered desserts.
After filling up on the stadium’s fine dining I knew I had to get closer to the Inebriatti. I spent approximately 10 minutes in Section 114 and that short period of time energized me for the rest of the weekend. I personally felt this was the best atmosphere in all of BMO Field. Having said that, this is a wild group of fans and this section may not be for everyone.
As the game ended realized that I could not have thought of a better start to my Friday night and the weekend. I was very lucky to have experience what felt like an entire season of excitement in just one game.
I highly recommend attending a Toronto FC game. The atmosphere is contagious and there is something for everyone.
