The major singer-songwriter, Taylor Swift, commenced her stadium tour in May 2018 in Phoenix. We had the pleasure of seeing her in Toronto at the Rogers Centre this past weekend and let me tell you, it was quite the “atmosphere.” Both first time and frequent concert fans from all over Ontario travelled to sing and dance with her.
There were three main aspects of this concert that made it like no other. Firstly, Taylor truly enjoys connecting with her fans and this was made evident in how much time she took to stop and talk between songs. She really made the experience feel unique and individualized. She would talk about why she came about writing a certain song or how she has evolved and explored as an artist because her fans allowed her to branch out and supported her along the way.
Secondly, this Reputation tour featured three, strong and extremely talented female artists including Camila Cabello and Charli XCX. They inspired and gave hope to the young fans and dreamers in the crowd. And finally, the light up wristbands that Taylor gave as a gift to every fan. These wristbands lite up the whole stadium and changed throughout the songs. As Taylor explained it, she wanted to be able to see every person even those in the top row of the nosebleeds.
Taylor is back to the States after her two day stop in Canada and she’ll be ending the tour in Tokyo. Thanks Taylor, and it goes without saying that any Taylor Swift concert is ATMOSPHERE approved!
