Boots and Hearts is held at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds every August and is a must for any music fan’s bucket list. Over the past six editions of “Boots”, the Dunford family and Republic Live have turned this festival into something truly incredible and the largest country music festival in Canada.

The 2018 edition of “Boots” boasted over 60 hours of live entertainment, performed by more than 40 artists over the course of four days. In addition to the live music there were many other extracurriculars such as midway games, amusement rides, giveaways and surprise special events.

This year’s festival was headlined by Florida Georgia Line, Alan Jackson and Thomas Rhett. It goes without saying that the “atmosphere” during these three sets was absolutely insane. The “atmosphere” exceeded my expectations for Boots and Hearts on the Friday night of the festival. Dallas Smith joined Florida Georgia Line for their encore when they performed their song Up Down. Thankfully they were that last act of the evening because they played an act that would be nearly impossible to follow.

Boots and Hearts is a must visit event for county music fans and festival aficionados. With estimates of 80 000 in attendance, Burl’s Creek easily exceeds the populations of countries such as Greenland and Bermuda. Having this many like-minded people in the same area is an incredible experience and something that you should put on your 2019 bucket list.
