Honda Indy Toronto

“If you have everything under control, you’re not moving fast enough” – Mario Andretti

Indy cars can reach speeds of up to 235mph. The skill and expertise needed to maneuver these cars is incredible. Races occur on super speedways, short ovals, road courses, and street circuits, providing a variety of racing events.

For over a month now, about 200 people have been laying the groundwork for this weekend’s 31st inaugural Toronto Honda Indy. Located in and around Exhibition Place, and along lakeshore drive, the 2.89km, 11 turn circuit is the second longest running INDYCAR series street race.

Molson breweries promoted the first race back in 1986, but Honda Canada has been the title sponsor since 2009. The continued efforts of everyone involved have attracted race fans from 10 different provinces, 32 states, and even 18 different countries! This is truly not your run of the mill race. It is an international affair with racers from England, Italy, Brazil, Mexico, and even as far away as Australia and New Zealand.
